At our December 2020 meeting, Gorgie Dalry Community Council agreed to post written reports submitted by our local ward Councillors for those residents who cannot make it to Community Council meetings. Gorgie Dalry Community Council is an impartial organisation and publishes information provided by any of our local elected representatives regardless of party allegiance, with the exception of explicit canvassing material. The opinions and positions expressed are those of the representative and not of GDCC.
“It has been a busy months with committee activity and dealing with constituent casework. In Gorgie Dalry, the main issues have been: flytipping; general bin issues; speeding cars and dealing with building contractors who have been violating Health and Safety regulations. I undertook a walkabout mid March and was shocked at the number of flytipping incidents I encountered. These were all photographed and reported to Waste. I received assurances that these would be uplifted within days. I also reported the flytipping to the officers who attended the GDCC in February, Murray Black and Gavin Graham. They are scheduled to report back to GDCC in April to provide an update on how their proposals are working. The speeding was mainly confined to Dalry and Murieston. The Police were informed and dialogue took place between local residents and dedicated Police officers.”
