Anyone resident in Gorgie and Dalry can stand to be elected as a member: elections to the community are held every September, and representatives are elected for a period of four years. Residents can also be co-opted to the community council at other times of the year if a majority of members approve the co-option. All GDCC community council representatives are volunteers.
Office bearers on the Community Council include Chair, Vice-Chair, Community Engagement, and Treasurer. If you are interested in standing for election, please take part in one of our monthly public meetings and talk to one of the community council members. We also have representatives from GDS Church and Gorgie Collective – if other community groups wish to be represented on GDCC please email: email@example.com or call 07835 908 453.
Some of our community councillors have been community activists in Gorgie and Dalry for decades; others have recently moved to the area. However, all GDCC members are passionate about making Gorgie Dalry a better place to live.
