Community Organisations

There are multiple ways to get involved in our community! The following organisations are community groups, parent and carer councils, charities and community centres that are active and engaged in our area, offering support, activities and connection for residents in Gorgie and Dalry.

Big Hearts

Big Hearts Community Trust is the official charity partner of Heart of Midlothian Football Club, which is based at Tynecastle in Gorgie. They run a number of support programmes, activities and events in the local community.

Dalry Primary School Parent Council

Any parent of a child or children who currently attends Dalry Primary School is welcome to join the Dalry Primary School Parent Council.

Garvald Edinburgh

Garvald Edinburgh is a registered charity and care provider that arranges social activities for people with disabilities in safe and friendly places throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians, including at their Day Centre on Gorgie Road.

Gorgie Collective

Gorgie Collective is a community arts organisation based in Gorgie. The group delivers free arts events in Gorgie to involve members of the local community in arts and creative activities in the areas’ greenspaces.

Health All Round

Health All Round is a registered charity and voluntary sector agency which aims to support people living in Gorgie Dalry, Saughton, Stenhouse and surrounding areas of Edinburgh to live longer, healthier lives.

LOVE Gorgie Farm

LOVE Gorgie Farm is an urban farm operated by education and social care charity LOVE Learning. The urban farm is open and free for visitors. The farm’s education centre provides education services to children and young people.

Tynecastle High School Parent and Carer Council

Any parent of a child or children who currently attends Tynecastle High School is welcome to join the Parent Council.

St Bride’s Centre

St Bride’s is a Community Centre in Dalry offering activities for adults and children as well as theatre, concerts, ceilidhs, dance performances and exhibitions.

St Martin’s Community Resource Centre

The St Martin’s Community Resource Centre (SMCRC) offers space, services and activities in a welcoming hub at the heart of Gorgie Dalry.

The Gorgie Mem

The Gorgie ‘Mem’ Community Centre provides services to the community of Gorgie and is a popular, friendly and safe place for locals to meet. It runs and hosts a number of events for both children and adults.

The Welcoming

The Welcoming is a charity based in Westfield that supports newcomers to Edinburgh to learn English, find jobs and access local services. They also run a number of community-building activities.
