Following our public meeting on June 1st 2020, Gorgie Dalry Community Council members have sent the following letter to the City of Edinburgh Council and our local councillors on the pressing issue of creating spaces for physical distancing in Gorgie and Dalry, amid concern from residents that the situation in Gorgie and Dalry is not being viewed as a priority.
This has become even more urgent as we have now moved into Phase 1 of easing the lockdown in Scotland, and as residents report difficulty in adhering to official public health guidance of maintaining a 2m distance between people of different households, and walking, wheeling and cycling instead of using public transport to travel locally.
We have asked the Council to urgently accelerate the time scales for interventions in our area.
If you are a resident of Gorgie and Dalry and have something to raise on this issue, please comment below or email gorgiedalrycc@hotmail.com
