
We received the following notification from Network Rail about the works currently in progress on the railway bridge on Gorgie Road, at the Robertson Avenue/Wheatfield Road junction.

Dear Members,
IMPROVEMENT WORK – Railway bridge at Gorgie Road, Edinburgh
As part of our commitment to a safer railway, we have been carrying out the first phase of our vital work to the railway bridge on Gorgie Road between Robertson Avenue and Wheatfield Road. This is now near completion and we need to move traffic management and scaffolding to the other side of the bridge to complete the final phase of works.
The refurbishment of the bridge is part of a wider, rolling programme of maintenance work on structures which is designed to extend their lifespan and keep the network safe and reliable.
To deliver this work safely and efficiently, the partial lane closure will remain in place under the bridge with temporary traffic lights. We have moved as much noisy work to dayshift as possible, as we make every effort to reduce disturbance to our lineside neighbours.
The second phase of our scheduled programme of work is detailed in the table below:
