Spaces for People is a new, temporary infrastructure programme in Scotland which offers funding and support to make it safer for people who choose to walk, cycle or wheel for essential trips and exercise during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Following correspondence from residents and discussion at our May public meeting, we have created a short survey to engage with Sustrans and the City of Edinburgh Council to improve infrastructure in Gorgie and Dalry, in light of recent social distancing guidelines: Gorgie Dalry Community Council – Spaces For People Survey
We are keen to hear from local residents what you think are possible barriers to social distancing in the area, and what could be done to make temporary improvements to facilitate social distancing, i.e widening pavements. Anything you enter on this form will be used to campaign for improvements to public space in Gorgie and Dalry, and it should only take five minutes to complete, depending on how detailed you want to be.
For an idea of potential local measures we have also created a web map, and we will update this with results from the survey: Gorgie Dalry Spaces For People Web Map
