Edinburgh Central and Southern Online Election Hustings

This event will be held on Friday 23rd of April at 7:30pm.

Elections for the MSPs to be appointed to the Scottish Parliament will take place on Thursday 6th of May.

Gorgie Dalry Community Council, Merchiston Community Council, St Michaels’s Parish Church and Gorgie Dalry Stenhouse Church have jointly organised a participative online Election Hustings event, which will take place on Friday 23rd of April at 7:30pm. This event will cover two constituencies, Edinburgh Southern and Edinburgh Central. Rev John Conway will be moderating the event to ensure even-handed treatment between the candidates.

The five main political parties competing in this election in these two constituancys have been invited to put forward a
candidate for this event. The patrys attending are the Scottish National Party, Scottish Conservative and Unionist, Scottish Labour, Scottish Greens and Scottish Liberal Democrats.

This event will be an opportunity for residents to hear candidates outline their policies and to answer questions from residents. We are seeking questions from residents before and during the event. Questions in the event will be asked from the most common qestions given to our survey and user submitted questions during the event based upon their popularity from the audence (most upvotes). Questions will have to follow our rules which are detailed in the form.

The event will be held using Microsoft Live Events, this can be accessed simply from a web link or in the Microsoft Teams client. A web link will be made available soon and reminder emails will be sent to those that want one.
